Alison & Luke

This story begins in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan with a little girl named Alison Page. From the time she could walk and talk, she was the one who brought smiles to everyone's face the second they met her. Most of her time was spent dancing, reading, or at her family cottage on Wixom Lake. She grew up skiing and snowboarding the converted garbage dumps that were the local ski areas of Metro Detroit, but was always dreaming of one day ripping down the Rocky Mountains. With a good head on her shoulders and a wonderful heart in her chest, she grew up into an ambitious, and kind woman. After high school she went on to get a biochemistry degree at Michigan State University, with the goal of finding a career where she could help people in any way she could. Alison always felt that she would become a doctor, but knew that other adventures awaited her before she went to medical school. She found a path she could take with that mission in sight, and she joined AmeriCorps and moved out west to Alamosa, Colorado. This is where she grew even more and learned from the children she helped who had less fortunate upbringings. She spent her time volunteering, showing these kids how to rock climb, and how to enjoy the outdoors, bringing smiles to their faces in the same way she has to countless others. Once her time was up there, Alison found her way to Montana where she was in need of a job and stumbled across an opening at an FBO at the Bozeman Airport, called Million Air.

Luke Marsh, on the other hand, grew up in the mountains of Colorado, mostly skiing, playing hockey and exploring the outdoors. Since he was 4 years old, he had always dreamed of playing professional hockey, and after graduating high school, found himself moving out to the east coast to chase that dream. After a few years of junior hockey, he had discovered a newfound dream… Flying! Though he had his hopes set on hockey, he decided that being a pilot would be a pretty cool job too, and moved back to the mountains and found himself in Bozeman, Montana. Luke attended flight school at Montana State University where he kept himself quite busy with one job at the airport, another as a ski instructor, his classes, flying and also playing hockey for the school. Yet any time he had free from his other obligations he would find himself exploring the mountains of Montana; hiking, skiing, dirt biking and any other way he could find to get away from people and be one with nature as he had as a kid. He had worked at the airport for three years before a new FBO opened up at the airport called Million Air, so of course he had to see what they were all about… and this is where things get interesting.

Luke hadn’t been working at Million Air for very long before Alison got hired in the summer of 2023, and from that first moment they met, they knew that something was different about one another. As the days went on, they became closer and closer and felt as if they had been friends for years. As the snow started to fall, the two found that they had more in common than previously believed. Alison and Luke started to go on winter adventures, always bringing Alison’s dog Sliggo in tow, enjoying the outdoors and quickly realizing that this might be too good to be true. One day they decided they were going to go camp at the base of a mountain before summiting the snowcapped peak the next day. They sat around a campfire talking all night before sleeping awkwardly in the back of Alison’s car with Sliggo cuddled up between them. Though they were still just friends at this point, there was a tension between them that only Sliggo could sense. The next day was not a success in the sense of summiting the peak, but in the sense that they had an amazing time as they slid on their butts down the snowy face of the mountain laughing and shivering all the way down. After that day, there was no going back, and soon they would come to the realization that although they were still co-workers, they couldn't let anyone know that they were falling deeply in love with each other. Over the next few months they would continue to go on adventures whenever they could. Their adventures spanned from building igloos in Luke’s backyard to almost running out of gas in the middle of nowhere Montana on their way to ski in Revelstoke, Canada. Their saying at the time was “we are still just friends… and we will figure the rest out when the snow melts” and the best of friends they were. As the days went on and the snow still fell, they realized they were only kidding themselves, but it was still fun to keep it a secret from their other friends.

Time went on and Luke finally got a job flying survey in the midwest and Alison soon left the airport job behind as well, but their love only grew stronger. The distance between them might have been great but the bond stayed true. Once Luke got back they decided that things were getting pretty serious so they moved in together, got another dog, Zulu, and decided that life is too short to ignore the fact that they had found their soul mate. They saw it as a sign, so here we find ourselves, having the privilege to celebrate the marriage between these two rambunctious adventure seekers!

Today, Alison is working as a medical assistant at the local community health clinic while she applies for medical school, and Luke is working as an airplane mechanic apprentice and pilot at the local flight school. Their free time is spent taking Sliggo and Zulu on adventures, playing cards with friends, but mostly just studying…They are in a major transition in all of these different facets, but couldn’t imagine going through these major changes without the other (or their crazy little cattle dogs) at their side. They decided to have a big blowout wedding because the opportunity to get all of their favorite people together in celebration of their love is an opportunity that they couldn’t resist.

Cheers!
